T.J. Campbell is the largest recycler of concrete materials in the Oklahoma City area. Our Concrete Recycling Centers have the capacity to take old concrete and asphalt rubble and manufacture it into high quality aggregates which meet ODOT specifications.

Currently, we employ two crushing teams that rotate between our many recycling yards. In 2013, our South Plant accepted over 200,000 tons of concrete debris from the EF-5 tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma. We worked closely with FEMA and the City of Moore to ensure the material was recycled for use in rebuilding the community.

Aggregate Base

T.J. Campbell’s crushing division pioneered recycled concrete in Oklahoma. We have been making it “green” for more than a dozen years and each year we refine and improve the process. Rather than filling landfills, we recycle thousands of tons of broken concrete annually. Our recycled materials meet strict testing criteria for quality. ODOT Aggregate Base Type A

Recycled concrete that is scalped for dirt, crushed in a two stage process, and then screened for proper sizing. Wire and re-bar are removed with industrial magnets. A small amount of red clay is mixed with the crushed aggregate to enhance its compaction and reduce potential for rutting and wash-out. Our Aggregate Base Type “A” meets or exceeds ODOT Standard Specifications for Aggregate Base 703.01. This material makes a great recycled alternative for crusher run, gravel, or rock.

Crushed Asphalt

Aggregate made by crushing and screening broken chunks of asphalt. Because it compacts readily and is fairly dust free, it makes excellent driveways and parking areas. A small amount of red clay is mixed with the crushed aggregate to enhance its compaction and reduce potential for rutting and wash-out. Crushed Asphalt is a low cost alternative to Hot Mix asphalt or Portland cement paving.

Hot Mix Asphalt

T.J. Campbell’s hot mix asphalt production started in 1978 at the South Plant in Oklahoma City and expanded to two plants in 1985. Our hot mix has accumulated many awards over the past three decades and we’ve supplied and constructed countless federal, state, county, and city projects. Our asphalt mixes undergo strict quality testing on site by our trained lab technicians to ensure our products meet or exceed industry standards.

Select Fill Dirt

Dirt that is scalped off concrete or asphalt prior to crushing. This is a very stable, easily compacted soil that works well for new construction. It used in building pads, road bases, or any area where structural fill is needed.

Asphalt Millings

Milled up asphalt that is removed from a road surface using a milling machine. The material has a gray to black appearance and makes a great driveway surface. Millings are a primary ingredient in numerous recycled hot-mix asphalt designs.
